Mariel Rodriguez, Zanjoe Marudo breaks up

Wowowee host Mariel Rodriguez and boyfriend actor Zanjoe Marudo is reported to have broken up and it was disclosed that the reason is Robin Padilla, who is the guest host of Wowowee.

According to our sources, it said that Zanjoe got jealous with Robin Padilla.

As seen on Wowowee, host Mariel Rodriguez is definitely starstrucked with the action star and a known womanizer Robin Padilla.

But Mariel immediately refuted the rumors by sending a text message on SNN.

The actress-host appealed that if she and Zanjoe had problems, Robin is not in any way connected to it. She said, it is unfair for Robin's name to be dragged on their "problems".

During the last eviction, it was very obvious that Mariel had cried heavily as evidenced by her swelling eyes while hosting the live eviction of PBB.

Lee Dewyze is the new American Idol

Amidst all the hyping that season 9 would be the "girls' season", another male finalist won. Lee Dewyze just won as the 9th American Idol, beating early favorite Crystal Bowersox, who placed 2nd to him.

Initially, it was predicted that a female winner will emerged this season. But as every female front-runners were all panned out except for Crystal, it has been obvious amongst the judges that they favored Lee more.

Among Lee Dewyze's best performances were when he sang "Hallelujah", "Simple Plan" and "That's Life".

In my opinion, the producers of the show has pushed Lee to win this season. I don't quite understand it, since there are more promising male finalists there. During the finals night, Lee got a big "Hallelujah moment," complete with an eight-member choir. The judges are even more imminent of their obvious bias and favoritism.

But America has voted. And they have chosen the 24-year-old paint salesman from Illinois as the new American Idol, joing the now growing AI's "boys' club".

TV Review: Momay on ABS-CBN

It seems that the Kapamilya network is banking on family shows on its primetime as evidenced by the success of recent dramas like May Bukas Pa and Agua Bendita --- shows which depict and reflect the strong bond of Filipino families.

Now, a Casper-inspired show courtesy of Momay joined the Primetime Bida blocked and as expected, ruled its timeslot and made immediate impact upon its premiere.

The show s being topbilled by the child sensation Xyriel Manabat, who got popular by portraying the young Agua and Bendita.

Premiere drama actres Lorna Tolentino is also in the cast as mother to Momay with Glydel Mercado as Momay's greedy aunt.

The pilot episode isn't that explosive as most primetime fantasy shows are. The show opened with Momay's happy family, a loving father played by veteran actor Joel Torre (who's role would die eventually due to cancer) and a caring, devoted mother as portrayed by Ms. LT.

The lead child star is definitely a gem --- an unpolished gem at that. ABS-CBN did a great job in finding another child talent that could captivate the hearts of young and adult viewers alike.

What I love about Xyriel is that she throws her lines in a seamless manner that you won't feel it was being memorized. The little girl is very natural and truly gifted with charm and talent. In fact, I would placed upon Xyriel the credit of how Agua Bendita became the current number one primetime show.

Momay is a simple drama. But it is poised to instill values on love and family to viewers as Momay's ghost is set to change the lives of many through her sweet and genuine demeanor.

Seeing how a project topbilled by a child star fare so successfully on the ratings game, I won't be surprised if Zaijan will be back on primetime soon.

I will give Momay a 4-star!!!^_^

Housemate Trishia Santos is nominated for the 5th time

After Kuya changed the nomination process, I thought the pretty housemate Tricia Santos will be spared with being nominated for eviction but I was wrong.

The misunderstood housemate got 11 points from the Teenternational housemates except from the cute Aussie housemate James Reid who got a crush on her.

James and Tricia could be a cute couple for TV and ABS-CBN should bank on the two already. James should learn Tagalog quickly!

Now back to the topic, this is already the fifth time Tricia was nominated but I'm sure she'll be saved again since the pretty lass for Davao is always topping the votes to save --- garnering a whooping 43% on the last poll to think there are five nominees.

Joe Vargas is nominated. Hopefully he'll be booted out since he's already getting annoying. Patrick Sugui and Angelo Pasco are the other nominees from the Pinoy housemates.

As for the teenternational housemates, nominated for the first time are James Reid,Jenny Kim and Jack Yoon while it's a 2nd time for Sophia Ko.

Who will replace the "King of Noontime" on Wowowee?

After his outburst at the set of Wowowee in front of televiewers and asking for the removal of radio host Jobert Sucaldito from ABS-CBN and DZMM, Willie Revillame is now asking his network's executives to release him from his contract which spawns up to 2011.

The noontime show host who has been part of Wowowee's ultra-successful five-year run is said to be leaving the show as he is already not happy doing the Php 25 million per month job.

For Willie's already more than two weeks of absence on Wowowee, action superstar Robin Padilla pitched-in and was very successful ratings wise. In fact, Robin Padilla's entry to the show in a Saturday episode brought the show to a ratings win, a rare feat for a Saturday show which is usually being beaten by rival Eat Bulaga in Mega Manila.

Also, Robin's Wowowee hosting gig became a global trending topic on Twitter.

But in an interview with Robin Padilla, he said that he is only hosting the show for two weeks since he still has many more commitments to attend to --- a commercial endorsement and a film courtesy of Star Cinema.

Since Robin isn't for permanent, who will be deemed the successor of Willie Revillame on ABS-CBN's biggest moneymaker?

(Editor's Note: Philippines noontime shows resemble that of the US' latenight shows. During Johnny Carson's stint on Tonight Show, it was NBC's biggest moneymaker, bigger than any of its primetime shows. Willie Revillame is like the Johnny Carson of Philippine noontime television --- very influential and lord of the ratings!)
