Santino, Agua join forces in upcoming series

ABS-CBN really striked gold with two of its new discoveries, the new child wonder on TV Zaijan Jaranilla who played the lead role in the number one primetime show of 2009 May Bukas Pa and the phenomenal child sensation Xyriel Anne Manabat who became popular with the new no. 1 show on primetime Agua Bendita.

With the two's tremendous popularity, the Kapamilya network is now cooking a primetime show which will star the two child stars.

According to our sources, Zaijan and Xyriel will reprise the roles of the popular children cartoon characters Julio and Julia who were popular way back the 90's.

Years ago, ABS-CBN aired Julio at Julia which was originally titled The Twins of Destiny, a 1991 animated television series produced by French writer Jean Chalopin.

It followed the (fictional) quest of two children, Jules and Julie, in their travels across Eurasia seeking to overthrow the Dowager Empress of China, and consequently, release their fathers from imprisonment.

The said show is exciting and is in line with ABS-CBN child-friendly and family oriented programming after its flagship newscast.

Nothing is yet confirmed but I'm hoping this series will push through because I really adore this two young actors.

'Take Me Out' soon on GMA

On its continuous effort of providing fresh new shows on its primetime line-up, the Kapuso network is slated to air the Philippine version of Take Me Out, a British reality dating game show which aired on ITV1 in the United Kingdom.

The show follows one single man has to try to impress thirty single women. Each woman has a light which she can turn off if she is unimpressed by the single man.

The man's aim is to convince as many women as possible to keep their lights on so that he can then pick, from the women remaining, the one that he wishes to take on a date. If no lights are left on, then the man must leave the show without a date.

The successful couples are taken on a date, the outcome of which is shown as part of the following week's show.

The show has become well known for its array of catchphrases such as "No likey, no lightey", "If you're turned off, turn off" and "Fernando's!".

The game starts when the single man comes down the love lift while his chosen song is played in the background, this round is then followed by a video from the single man's friends/family.

On the third round the single man tries to show off an ability he has in order to impress the girls. After these rounds, if there is more than 2 women left with their lights on, the single man must turn off the lights of the other remaining girls until he is left with 2.

Then he is told to ask a question to each of these 2 girls and then told to make his decision of which girl he would like to take on a date.

Willie's ex-wife Liz is dating Victor Aliwalas

BREAKING NEWS: My friend saw Liz Almoro, Willie Revillame’s ex-wife, having dinner with showbiz’s new hunk Victor Aliwalas. They were “sweet na sweet,” my friend added.

I called up Liz yesterday to verify and, yes, she confirmed that she and Victor are “just hanging out, that’s all” but they are not yet “on.” The marriage of Willie and Liz (above) has been annulled more than two years ago. They have a son, Juamee, who is with Liz.

During our brief phone chat, Liz said that Juamee, now four years old, is in nursery school.

“Please tell naman your friend (meaning Willie) to visit his son,” said Liz. (Willie, are you listening?) “The boy is growing up and he’s starting to look for his dad.”

I told Liz that I thought Willie was “barred” from seeing Juamee.

“No, he’s not,” said Liz. “The court has given him the go-signal noon pa. Sana naman, maalaala niyang bisitahin ang anak niya.”

Liz added that she’s now a certified Customs Administrator, having obtained her master’s degree from the Philippine Maritime Institute.

Incidentally, showbiz is not an alien territory to Liz. Before she met Willie, she had Christian Vasquez as boyfriend.

TV5's new shows off for good start

On Easter Sunday, the newly energized TV5 launched its new Sunday primetime lineup which received great numbers, making it very competitive against ABS-CBN and GMA.

Dolphy's new sitcom Pidol's Wonderland got hefty 7% against the weekday editions of GMA's 24 Oras which received 17.9% and ABS-CBN's TV Patrol's 15.4%.

Talentadong Pinoy remains a solid performer for the network as it recorded 13% against Kap’s Amazing Stories (GMA-7) 17% and Rated K (ABS-CBN) 19.5%.

The premiere of Vic Sotto's My Darling Aswang garnered 13.9%, so close with GMA's Mel & Joey 14%. Pilipinas Got Talent is the night's most watched show with its 23.7%.

The figures are great for a struggling network like TV5. It surely now poses threat to the leading two networks as it's shows are rating so closely with some of the giant networks' programs.

Bb. Pilipinas 2010 scandal

Barely a month after being crowned, Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj was dethroned due to inconsistencies discovered on her birth certificate.

Second runner up Helen Nicolette Henson was chosen as replacement and is now the official representative of the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Universe 2010 pageant middle of this year.

This development totally rocked the pageant world and caused stir amongst the most passionate pageant enthusiasts in the world --- the Filipino pageant aficionados.

This has been the third time a Miss Philippines Universe titleholder was dethroned due to irregularities on required documents.

But the dethronement scandal is now getting worse as Bb. Pilipinas-International 2010 Krista Kleiner is being dragged as the person behind.

According to sources, Krista with the help of GMA Network was the one who secretly protested the win of Venus Raj because of her birth records. Allegedly, Krista is bitter because she was supposed to win Bb. Pilipinas-Universe as what was initially promised to her by the organizers.

Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. is now once again in the limelight, being attacked again with such controversies which direly destroys the organization's credibility. It seems that other organizations should get the Miss Universe franchise from Stella Marquez-Araneta.
