Hollywood celebrities has been showing sympathy to the thousands of victims of typhoon Ondoy in the Philippines who were left homeless, with nothing from food, drinking water and clothes.
Celebreties like Demi Moore, Josh Groban, Demi Lovato, Joel madden and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, Pete Wentz, author Paulo Coehlo, Alyssa Milano, Channing Tatum, and Paris Hilton all tweeted and posted on their Facebook account the call for help to the devastated families in the Philippines.
But many local celebrities also did the initiative of sharing and helping the needy, the displaced families on flooded areas in Metro Manila and surrounding communities.
Angel Locsin, after hearing the tragic fate of many Filipinos who were ravaged by flood waters, immediately donated Php 500,000 to ABS-CBN's Sagip Kapamilya.
Aside from the money donation, Angel also lead the delivery of relief goods to familes who were in dire need of food, clean clothes and drinking water. The actress also urged her friends to donate to various civic organizations and take part on her own relief operation.
Fulfilling her duty as an ambassador of UN, KC Concepcion went on with her friends to two flooded areas to rescue stranded families and deliver necessities to various victims.
Angel, KC together with Piolo Pascual went to Payatas, Quezon City also to extend help to flood victims.
Media titan Kris Aquino has been actively vouching donations from her many endorsements, pulling the donations and cash pledges on ABS-CBN Foundation to soaring heights. Willie Revillame also donated a whooping Php 1 million to ABS-CBN's Sagip Kapamilya.
Marian Rivera also donated Php 100,000 to GMA Kapuso Foundation. The Kapuso network, like ABS-CBN, has also utilized its stars in asking for pledges and donations for its relief operations via its foundation spearheaded by anchor Mel Tiangco.
Meanwhile, Judy Ann Santos and husband Ryan Agoncillo rushed to Rizal to rescue Gladys Reyes and her kids as the flood waters already reached the second level of their home.
After rescuing Gladys, the couple returned to Rizal with food and drinking water for Gladys' neighbors.
Celebrities have shown that in times of devastation, they are not all glitz and glam but are part of the community helping each other to rise from muds brought by the raging typhoon.
