Beauty of the Week: Miriam Odemba
Miriam Odemba is a controversial Tanzanian model based in China, who represented her country in the 2008 Miss Earth pageant. She was crowned Miss Air 2008 (first runner-up) to Miss Philippines Karla Paula Henry.Compass Communication who are the franchise holders for Miss Universe Tanzania chose Odemba to represent Tanzania in the contest that will take place in Phillipines this year. Sources say that the committee chose her as she was signed to a modelling agency that is owned by the chair of Compass Communications.
She was romantically linked to an Italian envoy, just few days before she was designated to represent Tanzania in Miss Earth 2008.
During the pre-pageant activities, Miriam participated in Wowowee's "hep hep hurray" segment and won.
